I am
a musician and creative
programmer that explores Portuguese
musical tradition through new
technologies, experimenting with
audio samples of traditional music
field recordings, documentaries,
interviews, radio programs and others,
blending them with experimental
electronic music and reactive visuals.


I studied Electronic Music and Music Production at ESART with an exchange year at HKU. I am now currently doing a Master in Music Design, exploring all of the different fields that I am experienced in while combining these with new technologies and themes.

Pants, 2023
I had the great opportunity to play with Sio's Orange Core, Thijs Alting and Seb at Zaal 100, Amsterdam. The musical piece titled “Pants” is an homage to women’s liberation and to important female figures that fought against systems of oppression. We chose pants as we saw it is as a symbol of women’s empowerment, as it was illegal for women to wear pants in several parts of the world until they assumed jobs that only men were allowed to practice.In terms of musical composition, the rest of my group is responsible for it. Thjis Alting sound designed most of the synth sounds, soundscapes and samples present in the piece, Sio's Orange Core created a program that was able to detect the frequency that they was singing and therefore, could control synths sounds with their voice, and Seb was responsible for the creation of “Playable Pants” that controlled parameters of my visual work and drums.My work in TouchDesigner was based on several videos and images of important female figures in the fight against opression, these being Angela Davis, Rosa Parks, Rosa Luxemburg and Võ Thị Thắng. These images were then generated in a 3D world in which I could control their position randomness and the amount of them, this would them be fed into feedback that was reacting to Bas' playing.I want to thank my band for the support, and everyone present in the concert.The concert at Zaal 100, Amsterdam is available here.&#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp; &#38;nbsp;

“may Nature gambol”, 2023"may Nature gambol!", a collaboration with xico ribas was presented as a concert at Treehouse NDSM, an audio-visual performance for improvised piano, live-electronics and live visuals on which the attender was transferred into a new dimension where chaos seems to organize itself into beautiful sound and visual architectures. In the same way that trees, sea-waves or clouds never look the same, 'may Nature gambol!' pieces draw out a new form every time they exist and never cease to morph. Thanks to technology, player, piano, electronics and visuals are all interconnected: any subtle change on one of the organisms will affect the whole ecosystem, causing a new reality.

Roof of Air, 2023
	I had the immense pleasure to accompany Laura Kampan‘s music supported on stage by Winnie Conradi at&#38;nbsp; Van Gogh Museum for Stranded FM with Live Visuals.Laura’s work consists of capturing sonically personal moments of herself and people close to her, exploring intimacy and vulnerability in a very poetic collage.Along with her sound recordings, she also captures small moments with video recordings.These were the base for my work, gently blending and manipulating them, with some color palette inspiration of Van Gogh’s work.

Lugar, 2023I was part of the ESART Electronic Music Ensemble, where my work consisted of visually accompanying the music pieces.we explored the theme of&#38;nbsp; "PLACE", in which we explored the personal meanings of the word, musically and sonically. In terms of my work, I obtained images of non-distinctive places recorded by Rui Rodrigues and Ricardo Palma, and altered them live during the course of the concert. These visuals were projected on the facade of the Francisco Tavares Proença Júnior Museum building.You can watch the entire concert on Youtube.
